芦屋〜神戸2017.07.17

「交差するアーティストたちー戦後の関西 Artists Crossing : Postwar Kansai」を見に芦屋市立美術館へ。Su- 角谷さんに依頼してもらって展覧会名を英語にさせてもらったのでした。
I went to Ashiya City Museum of Art and History to see “Artists Crossing : Postwar Kansai”, whose title I translated. Sumiya-San offered the job to me.

「歴史資料館」の展示みたいなイメージだったのだけど、作風の幅広さが楽しく、自分たちが今携わっていることへの流れも感じるいい展示でした。
同世代の職員さんたちがつくりあげているのも垣間見れて、背筋がのびました。
I had imagined that it would be like an exhibition at some historical place, but it was rather enjoyable with its wide range of artworks, and I felt a flow or a connection to what we’re doing now. Also, the exhibition was planned and run by staff of my age, whcih was very inspiring for me.

残っていくこととか、こうやって何十年後とかに美術館で展示されて伝わっていくこととか、改めて考えたり。原田マハさんの「デトロイト美術館の奇跡」を読んだのもあって、美術作品が保存されること、作品を所蔵する美術館の価値にも思いが巡ったりしました。
It also made me think about passing artworks to the future generations, and showing them at a museum afther many decades. As I recently read “The Miracle of Detroit Institute of Art” by Maha Harada, I gave it a thought to preserving artworks and the value of the museum which value artworks and keep them.

After that, I headed to Kobe to see Nanae-San’s artwork, to visit Mushippe-San & Zushi-San’s exhibition at Maruni. I ended up having a nice tea time at “anhem” with Saori-San, who I met at Maruni. It was a rare packed day in recent days, but very nice summer day.
